Built around how decal makers actually work

  1. A roll of 651 is a hundred different jobs

The same roll cuts 3-inch stickers and 18-inch windshield banners. Footage-based recipes mean every size carries its true share of the roll's cost.

  2. Weeding waste isn't free

Intricate designs leave half the vinyl on the weeding table. A per-design waste allowance keeps delicate cuts priced like the material hogs they are.

  3. Transfer tape rides along on every job

Every decal ships wearing a layer of transfer tape you paid for. It's a small cost that compounds across hundreds of decals: put it in the recipe and stop donating it.

  4. Custom quotes, from one-off to fleet

A customer wants 40 door logos for their work trucks. Size-based recipes give you the materials and waste per decal, and from the Maker plan your time too, so the quote scales from real numbers.

Worked example

Car Window Decal (5 in), costed line by line

This is the math Keepsel does for every product you make: every line from its recipe, updated whenever a material's price changes.

Custom and fleet quotes scale from this same recipe: 40 decals is 40× the materials plus your setup time, not a guess.

A day in Keepsel, for decal makers

Step 1

Load rolls as footage

Each vinyl color and finish tracked by the foot, with transfer tape and application tools alongside.

Step 2

Recipe each decal size

A 5-inch decal consumes its inches of vinyl and tape plus a waste share, so cost scales with size honestly.

Step 3

Cut, weed and log the run

From the Maker plan, a work order for a 40-decal fleet job draws down the roll and adds 40 finished decals to stock (work orders up to 10 a month on Maker as a trial and 100 on Team, unlimited on Business and Enterprise).

Step 4

Reorder the workhorse colors

From the Maker plan, low-stock alerts on black, white and your shop's staple colors, at the levels you set, fire before the plotter goes idle.

Questions decal makers ask

How do I price vinyl decals?

Cost the vinyl the size actually uses (waste included), transfer tape and packaging, then price by size tier with labor on top. Simple 5-inch decals commonly sell at $5–$8 against well under a dollar in materials; the margin funds the weeding time.

How do I track vinyl rolls across colors and finishes?

Each color and finish is its own material in feet, with the footage you have on hand. From the Maker plan, work orders draw footage down per job, so you can see that matte black is nearly out while the neon nobody orders sits at 40 feet, and buy accordingly.

How should I quote a bulk decal order?

Scale the per-decal recipe and add setup once: materials × quantity + design and weeding time. Because waste is already in the recipe, a 100-decal quote stays profitable even when the design weeds ugly.

Do outdoor and indoor vinyl need separate tracking?

Yes: they're different materials at different prices with different jobs. Tracking 651-style outdoor and 631-style indoor separately keeps both costs honest and prevents a permanent decal shipping on removable vinyl.

Can Keepsel handle both decals and other vinyl work?

Yes. Decals, shirt vinyl and craft projects can share the same roll materials, with each product's recipe using the rolls it really uses.
